Billie Marie Simons

Billie Marie Simons, 82, of Pasadena, TX passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018. She was born in San Antonio, TX on December 16, 1935 to William T. and Elva Marie Lay. She was married to Billy Lee Simons for 64 years. Billie Marie had a career in Pasadena Food Service for Pasadena I.S.D.

She was a member of the South Houston Church of Christ then attended the Parkview Church of Christ until her death. She was also a member of the School Food Service Association; Texas State Teachers Association, and The Pasadena Area Retired School Employees. She was active as a Girl Scout Troop Leader and Honorary P.T.A. Member.

She enjoyed reading the Bible, cooking, knitting, crocheting, and organizing planning activities for family and friends. She particularly loved being around children of any age.

Billie Marie was preceded in death by her baby sister, Bobbie Jean; father, William (Bill) T. Lay; mother, Elva Marie Lay and brother-in-law, Gerald E. Garner. She is survived by her husband Billy Lee Simons, 3 children, Jerry Simons and wife Patricia of Pasadena, TX; Sherry Shaver and husband Bill of Aransas Pass, TX and Terre Koenig and husband Larry of Hempstead, TX; 6 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; beloved sisters, Geraldine Garner, Gracie Brown and husband James; beloved brother, Richard (Dickie) Lay and wife Ginger; a host of nieces and nephews; brothers and sisters in Christ and friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 2, 2018 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Hwy, Pasadena, TX 77505. A Celebration of her life will be on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 10:00am in the Chapel of Grand View Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Grand View Memorial Park.
