Bonita Goolsby

Bonita Goolsby, 88, our devoted and loving mother to all her children, passed away December 10, 2016 in Pasadena, TX at her home of 63 years. She was born in 1928 to Harold and Alma Gary of Tenaha, TX. Bonita married Clifford Goolsby with whom she had 5 children.

Bonita was a faithful Christian and truly cherished her daily bible reading and study every morning. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Pasadena since 1953. At Memorial, she was a loving and caring Sunday school teacher for 4 and 5-year-old children for over 50 years.

She is preceded in death by her father, Harold Gary, mother, Alma Gary and brother, Clifford Gary.

She survived by her sisters Cora Canipe of Garland and Ann Hawkins of Center, TX and many nieces and nephews. Her 5 children and their families, son, Gary Goolsby, wife Madeline, sons Edwin and Aaron, daughters Judy Fillman, husband Mark, and son Owen Pillion, Deborah Goolsby, Donna Petry, husband Robert, and Connie Piotrowski, husband Ronald and daughter Judith.

With special thanks to Mary Werth, Cynthia Pellusch for their loving care of Bonita. To the staff at Paramount Health Care for their special care during times of illness and rehab through the years. Also, special thanks to Joan and Marty of Dignity Hospice Care for making Bonita’s last days so peaceful.

In celebration of Bonita’s life, Visitation and Funeral will be held at Grand View Pasadena from 6-8 pm Wednesday, December 14th, Funeral Service will be Thursday, December 15 at 10:00 am, Committal Service Friday, December 16 at 1:00 pm at Ramah Cemetery in Tenaha, TX.
