Carmen Cortes Aguilar, 64, was unexpectedly taken from us on January 21, 2011. She was born on August 15, 1946 to Manuel Cortes and Andrea Soto Cortes in Houston, Texas and lived in Pasadena the remainder of her life where she raised her family. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, David Aguilar and their three children Bruce Aguilar and wife Kelly, Mark Aguilar and wife Mary and Kelly Aguilar and husband Lorenzo Blas. She is also survived by her brother, Manuel Cortes, Jr. , numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, all of which she loved dearly. She has gone on to join and rejoice with her parents and three sisters, Terry Harvell, Mary Green and Josephine Shaw. Carmen enjoyed enriching the lives of her beloved grandchildren Sydney 18, Bayley15, Clayton 11, Aaron 8, Isabella 7 and Andrea 1. Our mom was very instrumental in making all our lives easier and will be missed so much that simple words could not express our gratitude and love for her. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Grand View Funeral Home from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral Service, Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at First Baptist Church of South Houston at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Grand View Memorial Park.
