Carmen Sylver Malloy

She was born in St. John’s, Antigua on August 27th, 1931, to Joseph Phillip and Charity Alexander.

After migrating to St. Croix United States Virgin Islands in 1959, Carmen worked as a housekeeper for the Lyons family for 8 years. In 1967 she transitioned to cashier alternating between their duty-free liquor and jewelry store and their apparel store.

She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph Phillip and Charity Alexander Phillip, son Eustace Melrose Phillip, husband Francis M. Malloy, sisters Molly and Josephine Phillip, Mrs. Francis Ferris, Mrs. Estella Thomas, and brothers Ferdinand, Kingsley, and George Phillip.

She is survived by daughters Faith Goldene Phillip, Agnes Bright and siblings - Sister Marie Phillip and brother Alphaeus Phillip, grandchildren Paulette Mason, Erline, Estherlyn and Elton Lindsey, Eustace, Shawn, Nina, Rhonda and Linda Bright. Great-grandchildren: LaDania Carrington, LaDia Carrington-Santiago, Dalia Carrington, Djante Carrington (deceased), N’Rique and Nasir Francis, Emani M. O’Reilly, A’Jahri and A’Mahli Walwyn, Ezekiel and Kendrick Irie Bright, Brianna-Bright Shore, Shepherd and Endure Bright-Campbell, and Grace and Gabriel Bright-Kiser. Great-great-grandchildren Lajahni, Amaryse, Jahseem, Jahdiel, Kahleem, Jai, Mikayel, Naylaja, and Amoyr.

Nieces and nephews, includes Yvonne Ferris, Velma Pryce, Lorna Joseph, Daisylyn Samuel, Cleopatra Charles, Christie Phillip, Claire Stevens, Desiree Flemming(TX), Condace Bryan, Tyrone King, Glenville Ferris, Frederick Ferris, Denley Phillip, Hempstead Phillip, Danella Phillip-Raeburn, Sharon Halpike, David Phillip, Myfanry Levingston, Marques Phillip. And many more throughout USA, Canada, England and Antigua too numerous to mention. Grand sons in Law David Campbell, Daniel Kiser and Edwin Santiago.

A visitation for Carmen will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, Texas 77505, followed by a Celebration of Carmen's Life at 2:00 PM.
