Charley Ralph Estes, age 87 of Houston, Texas was born March 24th, 1926, in Agnas, Arkansas to the late William Estes and Ruby Short Estes. He went to be with the Lord and his sweet beloved wife, Marie Estes on Thursday, March 20th, 2014. Charley R. Estes was a proud veteran of WWII, Army Company G136th Infantry, Gunner 844 and rifle marksman infantry. He served in the Asian-Pacific Campaign and Japan.
Charley was a hero to many. He was full of life and love for his family. Always smiling, making jokes, and teaching life lessons by his example. He “did it right” and his heritage will be left in the heart of his family members and friends for a lifetime. He truly will be missed, but never forgotten.
Charley is survived by son, Charles Jr. and wife Jeanette Estes, daughters Connie Hillman, Karen Owen, Ruby and husband Brent Phillips, Twelve grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A private memorial will be held in Houston, Texas on Sunday March 23rd at 1:00 p.m. to honor and celebrate his life. Charley would have been 88 on March 24th of this year.
