

Charlie Homer Shoemaker passed away November 13, 2010 in Houston, TX at the age of 86. He was born in Corsicana, TX on March 5, 1924 to the union of Beverly Brian Shoemaker and Mattie Francis Newman-
Shoemaker. Chuck is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Monk Shoemaker, and sister-in-law Leta Shoemaker. He leaves behind his loving wife of 44 years Shirley Jean Shoemaker, and daughter Julie Ann Shoemaker to cherish his memory. He is also survived by his “baby boy” Mugsy (his precious dog).
Chuck was a loving husband and father. He lived for his family, and enjoyed traveling and spending time with them. He was supportive of all of Jean’s endeavors, and was her “knight in shining armor”. Chuck retired from Brown & Root after 34 years of service as an instrument superintendant. Later in life he began a career in the movies and has many popular films to his credit. He was a patriotic man and proud to have served his country during WWII in the US Air Force where he flew on B-17 bombers. Chuck was a charitable man, giving to many organizations that he held dear to his heart, such as the US Olympics, and the SPCA. Donations may be made in honor of Chuck to either organization or the Cal Farley Boys and Girls homes.
Graveside services with military honors will take place at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at Grand View Memorial Park, officiated by Reverend Bill Cole. Online memorial tributes may be placed at www.grandviewfunerals.com
