Dennis Bryan Doughty passed from this earthly life to his Heavenly Home on Sunday, September 26,2021. He was born on September 11, 1940, to Orland P. Doughty and Annie Lee Tharp in Rogers, Bell County, Texas.
Dennis joined the Navy and served his country for 10 years. He was assigned to serve on multiple ships on the west and east coasts, as well as Hawaii and Japan.
He met Judy, the love of his life, while home on leave from Hawaii in 1965. They wrote letters to each other for 22 months then Dennis proposed to Judy in a letter. They married on April 8, 1967. Dennis and Judy had been married for 54 years and 5 months when he passed away.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Judy Anderson Doughty; son, Dennis Keith Doughty and wife Katie; daughter, Kara Danielle Doughty Adkins and husband Robert; his grandchildren, Kaileigh Doughty, Lily Doughty, Daniel Adkins, and Hannah Adkins; his brother, James V. Kelley; sister, Holly Jane Sanders and stepfather, James Owen Kelley also survive him.
Dennis was a good Christian man who was ready to help whenever needed. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be missed by all who knew him.
