Elizabeth Gail Tuttle

On a beautiful Sunday morning in Lufkin, God’s little girl, Elizabeth ran on strong healthy legs into her Heavenly Father’s arms. Elizabeth is no longer held inside her crippled body that has kept her in bondage for most of her life. Her beautiful spirit is free and is probably running with her sister Ramona giggling like the little girls they wanted to be.

Elizabeth Gail Tuttle, oldest daughter of Godfrey Gail and Loyce Gracie Tuttle was born March 3, 1932 in New Iberia, Louisiana. At the early age of 12 Elizabeth became a resident of Lufkin State School due to mental and physical handicaps. Being afflicted with her mental and physical limitations, she still had feistiness and made herself known to her other fellow residents. Even though Elizabeth faced many sad events in her lifetime; she was always a part of her family’s prayers and never far from their thoughts. Visits to Elizabeth always included much planning; from saving her favorite shopping catalogs for months, (which meant all that came in the mail); to buying her new baby dolls, and other items of comfort.

Elizabeth leaves behind two siblings; brothers-James Earnest Tuttle and William Gail Tuttle. She also has many nieces and nephews that will cherish their memories of visiting her too. Elizabeth also leaves behind the loving and kind caretakers at Lufkin State School and her fellow roommates. Pallbearers for the service include: Doug Melofsky, William Green, Kyle Melofsky & Nathan Womack. Honorary Pallbearers: James Tuttle & Bill Tuttle.

Visitation for Elizabeth will be held 12:00-2:00PM at: Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer HWY, Pasadena, TX 77505. Service will begin at 2:00PM then we will lay our sweet Elizabeth to rest graveside.
