She was born on May 20th, 1936 at her parents’ ranch, San Pedro, in Jalisco, Mexico to the late Guillermo Macias and Wenceslao Ortega.
Evangelina was a devout Catholic and attended St. Pius V Catholic Church in Pasadena, Texas. She faithfully prayed her rosary daily. She was a talented gardener, with a wide variety of plants and flowers of every color. She enjoyed gifting her plants to family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Ruben Tijerina, and her daughter, Elisa Segura.
She is survived by children, Esther Garza (José) and Emma Mendoza (Manuel); Segura (Mario Sr.); grandchildren, Mario, Jr. & Gina Segura, Joseph & John Garza, and Mathew Mendoza; and great grandchildren, Giselle Segura, and Eleanor & Margaret Garza.
