

Born in Aldine, TX, to Vivian Batson and Manuel Cardenas. Preceded in death by wife Lois Inez Cardenas, son, Hurschel P. Cardenas(Bubba), grandsons, Carl Frank Weeks, Brandon L. Cardenas, Frank Russell Cardenas, Sr. and Keith D. Cardenas.
Survived by daughter Dolores and husband Robbie Robinson, son Kirby Frank and wife Betty Cardenas(Favorite daughter-in-law), and daughter Sharon Cardenas Sancic, brother Carlos and wife Beverly Cardenas. 4 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.
Frank had only a 6th grade education, as his parents were farmers, and needed him home to help farm. He met his wife Lois in Bear Hollow, TX and were married on December 21, 1934. Lois passed one month before what would have been there 70th Anniversary.
They worked and raised 2 children in Crockett, moving to Houston in December, 1942. After WWII broke out, found a job at Houston Pipe and Steel. There he became a journeyman fabricator and welder. He joined Pipefitters Local 211, where he is a 70 year member.
Seeing a need for the youth in South Houston, TX, he established the 1st teenage Baseball League. He served many years as President, organizing many fund raisers for the purchase of property, and overseeing the building of baseball fields. Thanks to the many parents who worked alongside him.
After retirement, he helped to establish the Pipefitters Local 211 Retires Club.
He moved to South Houston, TX and two more children were born. For the last 5 years he lived with his daughter Dolores. He moved to Paramount on December 24, 2013 until his death on December 16, 2014.
Many thanks to the wonderful caregivers at Paramount, as well as the dedicated Hospice nurses from A-Med community Hospice, who guided him and his family to his final resting place with our Lord.
Frank will be buried next to his wife, Lois at Grand View Memorial Park , 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, Texas 77505.
Visitation will be held at 9:00am and service at 10:00am with the burial to follow immediately after the service, at Grand View Funeral Home and Memorial Park.
