Glenn Dale Grappe was born in Houston, TX. on October 16, 1965, to Bobby Lynn and Peggy Dale Grappe. Glenn, “Bubba, Bub, Bubbie,” was the second oldest of 6, and he learned not only to survive but thrive in a large family. He was small but mighty. He played football and baseball and was known as “Popcorn” on the field. Weekends and summers were spent with his brothers, Jerry, and Dodie, having tag-team wrestling matches, roofing, and saving money to ride their dirt bikes to Sears to buy a racetrack and baseball cards. He was always looking for a new adventure whether it was skateboarding on the halfpipe, surfing, waterskiing, collecting baseball cards, working on his mini truck, duck or dove hunting, or training his labs. Bub was quick-witted, as long as you could hear him, and he never backed down from a fight. Everyone was jealous of his hair, handwriting, and a never-ending list of talents, including being an amazing artist.
Bub became “Glenn” when he married his forever love, Cindy, on September 26, 1987. They recently celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary but have been together for over 40 years and are still inseparable.
Glenn supported his family by being a chemical plant operator at Rohm Haas and Dow and supported his community by being an EMT, a firefighter, and helping on life-flights.
Glenn’s proudest accomplishment was his son, Nathan. He shared his love of baseball, hunting, fishing, and dogs with him. Glenn, Cindy, and Nathan enjoyed their family time at Lake Livingston, family events in Louisiana and Arkansas, adventures snow skiing, and wherever travel ball took them.
Glenn departed this life on November 10, 2023, at his home in Pasadena. His next adventure started when he was reunited with Cindy. We were blessed to be a part of his journey and call him son, dad, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, and friend. Bubba will forever be missed and in our hearts.
Glenn is survived by his son, Nathaniel Grappe of Deer Park, Tx.,
his father, Bobby Grappe of Pasadena, Tx., and his siblings: Jerry and Janice Grappe of Clear Lake, TX., David and Leah Grappe of La Porte, TX., Barbara and Kenneth Vaughan of Cove, TX., and James and Anna Grappe of League City, TX.
He was preceded in death by wife, Cynthia Anne Grappe, Mother, Peggy Dale Grappe, and brother, Danny Ray Grappe.
