On May 21st my parents celebrated their 43rd anniversary. My brothers & sisters and I can all tell you that their relationship was very special. As we were growing up they were always behaving as a young couple in love. Oh how they loved the Hugging, holding hands, laughing & flirting with each other. We loved the way our parents openly expressed their love for one another throughout the 43 years. They were so cute together. My Dad always treated our Mother like a Queen. He never laid one hand on her and he never spoke disrespectful to her. He honored her. And for that Dad, we thank you because she deserved it & you honored God’s word. In our house, you were the head of the family and she always remained by your side as an equal partner loyal & dedicated. Your children & your grandchildren are your witnesses. You were a good husband to our Mother and I want you to know that she said it, we saw it and that she was very, very happy. She always said you have God’s favor and I’m glad you two were able to serve God together for many years before she left us because that was all she ever wanted.
My Mother was everything to each of us. And we all know that we gave her honor, respect & love. She was an amazing, remarkable woman. She was so very beautiful inside and out. She had so much compassion for people and unconditional love not only to us but for all of God’s people. She never judged us or criticized us or anyone. She always reminded us to love one another and to forgive one another and as we do that for those we love we must also do that even more for those it would be easy not to love. She would always tell us to be a leader & not a follower. She would encourage us to hold our heads up high always and to follow our heart. She always said God wants his children happy & to pray for everything giving God the glory. Mom just wanted assurance that our faith was strong and that we would be a beautiful reflection of God’s love and to always walk with God. Even if we stray, God always takes us back because God is a good God, an awesome God and his mercies endures forever.
Our children know what they had in Grandma. To each one of them she was a true friend. They could each go to her and talk to her. They all adored her & actually listened to her. Her hope is that all her grandchildren have a heart for God and that they would do their all in life and trust in God to do the rest. And Grandma is not going to miss a thing you do in life. She is there. We have an extra angel watching over you…and when you need her…All you have to do is find a quiet place and talk to Grandma…she will answer you and you will know its her.
My Mom had a place for each of our spouses. She loved each of you as her Sons and Daughters. You always loved our Mom as your own. Whatever she wanted you each gave without hesitation. I want you to know that she had nothing but praise for each of you. We thank you for the love & support you each gave to our Mother.
Mom……Your last words to me for your Children was to have “no fear & no doubt”. You said, Keep the enemy out of OUR mind from here on out! She was in good spirits and she had strong faith and she was definitely positive. No pity party! She would say. Ok?! Mom said she loves you, her Babies. Remember to stand strong show the enemy NO FEAR; NO DOUBT!!!”
We don’t Mom.
Our heart is broken & this pain in our hearts burns Mom…A part of us is in heaven now….We will think of you & we will cry and then we will laugh and cry some more. You did good Mom.
Thank you so very much for every single thing you did for us. You always gave to each of us so we would never be without. You definitely were a giving soul. We are all so proud of you. You were a good Wife, Mother, Grandma, Daughter, Sister, Aunt and Friend.
You did it all very well! You truly were a good & faithful servant…
To my Dad, my Brothers and Sisters:
Our family motto for as long as I can remember has been all for one and one for all…
Keep putting into practice all you have learned and received from Mom---everything you heard from her and saw her doing.
And when we need to feel Mom all we need to do is find each other and hold each other.
That is where we will find & feel Mom the most.
Remember what Mom would always say…
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY THE LORD HAS MADE! REJOICE AND BE GLAD IN IT!
May the God of peace be with you always…
Amen & Amen
