

Jack Douglass, age 90, of Pasadena, TX went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, November 11, 2022. He was born on July 26, 1932 in Whitlock, TN to the late W. C. Douglass and Rheudean Bailey Douglass. Jack graduated from Jackson High School, Jackson, TN, in 1950. He served in the TN National Guard from January 1949 – 1955, attaining the rank of Sergeant. After marrying Sara B. Dungan of Humboldt, TN, on December 26, 1951, they lived in Jackson before moving to Pasadena in 1956. Jack was a 50-year Life member of the Local 211 Pipefitters Union. He retired in the instrumentation field. Jack believed in serving our community and in his retirement was a member of the Pasadena City Council from 2003 – 2011. In 2007 he became Mayor pro tem and on October 3, 2007, became the Mayor of the City of Pasadena. Jack loved Jesus and his church, and served many years as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and Young Adult Director.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife Sara; June Douglass Hinson, sister; Bill Douglass, brother; Peggie Douglass Pearce, sister; and John C. Bailey, son-in-law.
Survivors include: Robert L. Douglass, Sr., brother; Dolores Douglass Valentine, sister; Dr. Terry D. Douglass, brother; Children: Carl Douglass and wife Michele, of Knoxville, TN; David L. Douglass and wife Cynthia, of Deer Park, TX; Cynthia Bailey, of Pasadena, TX; and Steven B. Douglass and wife Leslie, of League City, TX; eleven Grandchildren: Christopher, Alaina, and Timothy Douglass; Ryan Douglass, Amber Douglass Miller, and Lindsey Douglass DeSimone; Steven Bailey, Sarah Bailey Nouri, and Jackson Bailey; Monique Prieser and Jason Millon; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are being handled by Grandview Funeral Home in Pasadena. The funeral service is scheduled for Friday, November 18, 2022 at South Main Baptist Church in Pasadena. Visitation will be 11:00 AM – Noon. The funeral service will follow at Noon. Burial at Grandview Memorial Park immediately following.
