James Dean Moody

James Dean Moody passed away on April 18, 2020 after a short hard fight with cancer. James was born in Durant Oklahoma on June 2, 1956. He was a pillar of the Deer Park community having been the General Manager of Whataburger on Spencer for many years. James loved his job as he could be found there six days a week. He loved his Whataburger family and strived to help make them the best.

James was an avid mechanic in his early years (not by choice) always working on his cars. He loved to saltwater fish and root for the Astro's, Oilers, and Texans. He loved making pecan pies during the holidays and could smoke the heck out of a brisket. More than anything he enjoyed being around his family. He rarely missed a birthday or holiday and always tried his best to be at events for his grandchildren. James was a fantastic husband, son, father, and grandfather.

James was the father of 8 who he adored and loved with all his heart. In his later years, James found love in his grandchildren who melted his heart.

James is survived by his loving wife Laura Moody, his mother Norma Moody, father Clyde Moody, sisters Debbie Cain and husband J.J., Sherrill Thomas, Crystal Ellison and husband Craig. James is also survived by his eldest son James "Scooter" Cooey and wife Holly, daughter Lauren Loveland and husband Brandon, daughter Melissa Duarte and husband Chris, son Brandon Moody, daughters Makayla Moody, Lilah Moody, Ceci Sandoval and husband Raul, son Brand Eliud;and nine grandchildren.

James will be remembered most for his infectious smile, beautiful blue eyes, damning good looks and his gentle words of encouragement.
