Joseph Thomas Whilley Jr.

Joseph Thomas (Joe) Whilley Jr., of Deer Park, Texas went home to be with his Lord Thursday June 2, 2011. He was at home surrounded by family and friends awaiting a lung transplant after recently being diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis. Joe was born August 27, 1943 in Houston, Texas to the late Mary Kate and Joseph Whilley Sr. Joe was a member of Deer Park First Baptist Church. He supported the community as a Lifetime Director of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. He also was a past board member of Houston Restaurant Association, and Hotel/Motel Association. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Patsy; daughter Leslie Whilley; daughter Beth Lovelace; grand-daughter and apple of his eye Meghan Whilley; and “ his little side-kick “ great grandson Joshua Free; brother Ronald C. Whilley Sr.; niece Jennifer; nephew Ronald Whilley Jr.; sister-in-law Linda Holley and husband Willie; nephew Tony Wurz and wife Kathleen; great-nephew Aidan Wurz; and last but not least his “little princess” Trixie. Visitation will be Monday, June 6, 2011 from 5PM to 8PM at Grand View Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 11AM at Deer Park First Baptist Church 438 East 8th Street in Deer Park, Texas. Burial will follow at Grand View Memorial Park.
