

Kelvin E. “Gene” Dunn went to be with the Lord on June 19, 2011 after a brief illness. He was born on September 8, 1926 in Carmona, Texas to Orville and Lillie Dunn. Gene joined the United States Navy and served his country proudly during World War II. After the war, Kelvin began his career as an operator at Armco Steel in Houston, Texas and remained a loyal employee until his retirement.
Gene is preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Anita Dunn; his only daughter, Kathy Keith; and his parents. Kelvin is survived by his son, Richard “Buddy” Dunn and his wife E’Laine. To his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Kelvin was known as PawPaw Dunn. PawPaw was blessed to have 5 grandchildren, Jennifer E’Layne Dunn; Natalie Jo Blankenship and her husband Robert; Dwight Eugene Dunn and his wife Lauren; Robin Heather Fielder and her husband Daniel; and Christine Holly Keith and her fiancé Stephen Siebel. PawPaw was further blessed to have 6 great-grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Bryce Nicole Holt; Madison Simone Fagan; Kayla Nicole Blankenship; Robert Gage Blankenship; Gabriel Keith Fielder; and Nathaniel Fielder. Kelvin is also survived by many nieces; nephews; relatives; and many friends that love him and will miss him very much.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. at Grand View Funeral Home in Pasadena, TX. Funeral services will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2011 in The Chapel of Grand View Funeral Home. Gene will be laid to rest in Grand View Memorial Park with military honors.
