LaNell Ann Simon

LaNell Ann “Nanny” Meynard Simon, 81, of Pasadena, TX passed away on Monday, September 18, 2017. She was born in Freeport, TX on April 25, 1936 to Ambrose and Marie Meynard. She was raised along with her older sister, Claudia, surrounded by loving aunts and uncles. LaNell worked in Tax Appraisal for Harris County until her retirement in 2002.

A faithful member of St. Pius V Catholic Church, she had a deep passion for family. What brought her the most joy was when all of her children and grandchildren were together. She also had a passion for reading and sports. She especially loved her “Astros”. She was married to Dallas J. Simon, Jr. and together they had three children, Gus, Todd and Camille.

LaNell was preceded in death by her sister, Claudia “DeeDee” Dodds and niece, Suzette Dodds. She is survived by her loving children, sons, Gus Simon and wife Melanie, Todd Simon and wife Lisa; daughter, Camille Simon Bates and husband Larry; granddaughters, Julia, Isabelle, Colette and Allison Simon; former husband, Dallas J. Simon, Jr.; nephews, Robert and David Dodds and their families.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 23, 2017 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and on Sunday, September 24, 2017 from 9:00am to 6:00pm with a Vigil recited at 3:00pm on Sunday all in the Chapel of Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Hwy, Pasadena, TX 77505. The Funeral Mass will be Celebrated on Monday, September 25, 2017 at 11:00am at St. Pius V Catholic Church, 824 Main St., Pasadena, TX 77506. Interment will be private.

The family would like to invite everyone to share in food and fellowship at the church immediately following the service.
