Lena Keeton Love

Lena went to Opelousas High School and then attended Louisiana Tech University. While working at the Districts Attorney’s office in Opelousas, she married the love of her life, Richard (Dick) Love on June 10, 1950. They soon moved from Louisiana to Pasadena, Texas where her husband worked as an Electrical Engineer at Ethyl Corporation. They were devoted members of South Man Baptist Church where they co-taught Bible studies and Dick served as a Deacon.

Lena was a force to be reckoned with and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, daughter and friend. She loved to laugh and shared a wonderful sense of humor with her husband, Dick. Lena loved to golf and dance with her husband, and they had a rich social life with beloved friends. After Dick’s retirement, they traveled, golfed and visited friends and family throughout the U.S. After Richard passed away in 2004, Lena volunteered regularly at Pasadena Community Ministry (PCM) and visited the elderly in her church.

In October 2019, Lena moved to Fort Worth, Texas to be near family. Staying true to form, she made many friends there and enjoyed an active social life.

Lena is preceded in death by her husband Richard Love; parents E.V. Cleveland and Vera Lillie Cooper Cleveland; her siblings “Buddy” Cleveland and Gemmye Dee Bass. She is survived by her daughters, Pamela Love Hughes (Macon Hughes) and Lisa Love (Charles Mendoza); sister Kay Evans (Glen Evans); grandchildren Dane Hughes (Elena Hughes), Keeton Hughes Monahan (Tyler Monahan) and Lily Olivia Mendoza; great grandchildren, Knox, Asher, Chole Monahan and Cara and Sadie Hughes; nieces and nephews, Doug Bass, Cindy McNamara, Keith Cleveland, Amy Cleveland, Glenda Evans, Bobby Evans, Mike Love and Johnny Love; Sister-in-law, Linda Love, and many friends.
