Linda shared 60 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Alfred (“Mutt”) DeBorde, who preceded her in death just one month earlier. Together they built a life centered on love, family, and faith.
Linda was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She dedicated her early years to being a stay-at-home mom to her two sons, Cecil (“Co”) and Joseph (“Joe”), while also caring for the children of others—loving them all as if they were her own. Later, she pursued a career in childcare, working in the nursery department, where her kindness and nurturing spirit touched countless families.
She found lifelong friendships through her involvement in the Sorority Beta Sigma Phi and the Deer Park Fire Ladies Auxiliary. Linda’s passions included reading, crafting, sewing, and traveling with Alfred to see new places and landmarks. Yet some of her happiest moments were the simple ones—sitting on the pier, fishing for catfish. It was there she shared her love of fishing with her sons, who proudly carry on that tradition (and tale) as accomplished top fishermen in the nation.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Buddy Sloan, and her husband, Alfred. She is survived by her loving sons, Cecil (“Co”) and Joseph (“Joe”); her cherished grandchildren, Bobby, Cody, Marissa, Brendon, Madison, Haiden, and Gavin; and her two treasured great-grandchildren, Mateo and Brennon and Her sister Barbara Wolf
Linda will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and the countless lives she brightened with her love and care.
