Luther Sherman Spillman, age 76 of Houston, TX passed away Wednesday October 26, 2022. He was born February 05, 1946, to Ethel E. (Pierce) and Nathan C. Spillman in Wichita, Ks. He graduated from Augusta high school in 1965. He married Carla (Green) Spillman on January 05, 1968, in Augusta, Ks. They had three beautiful Daughters.
Luther serviced his country in the United States Navy with pride from 1965-1970. After the military he work at Beechcraft where he was laid off and moved to Texas for work. He worked odd jobs for a couple years before starting Houston Lighting & Power where he worked for 27 Years. He worked for Wackenhut Security for 5 years and Bayshore Hospital security for 7 Years.
After retiring he volunteered at HCA Hospital (Bayshore) where he loved greeting and making everyone smile.
He was an amazing husband, father, papa, and friend to everyone who knew him.
He never knew stranger and always had a story.
Luther is preceded in death by his father Nathan Spillman, mother Ethel Spillman, brother Guy Spillman
Survived by his wife Carla Spillman, Daughters: Tina Wilkinson (David Wilkinson) of Seabrook Tx, Tonya Spillman of Houston, Tx, and Lori Tate (Randy Tate) of La Porte, Tx. Grandson Nathan Tate, Nephew Guy Spillman Jr, Nieces Mary Frakes and Pam Edmondson. Many Cousins and adopted family members.
Visitation will be held at Grand View Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 01, 2022, from 12:00pm to 2:00pm, funeral following at 2:00pm and Graveside at 03:00pm
Serving as pallbearers are Eugene Green, Ken Saville, Thomas Hayes, Wade Stringer, Jimmy Hallmon and Christopher Gray.
