

Marcella Moore, 86, of Port Arthur, Texas, recently of La Porte, Texas, passed away on April 19, 2014 in La Porte.
She was born on October 1, 1927 to Austin and Ardiff Bailey in Haynesville, Louisiana. She had two brothers, Donald and Coy. The family moved to Carlisle, Texas during her school years and she graduated from Carlisle High School. On October 28, 1945 she married Everett Leroy Ensey and they subsequently had two daughters, Velda and Mollie. She was a homemaker who had a love of cooking, sewing and gardening that continued throughout her life. After the untimely death of Leroy in 1973, she married Joe Floyd Moore on September 5, 1975. They were married until his death in 2011.
Marcella was a deeply religious woman and was a member of the Imhoff Avenue Church of Christ in Port Arthur for many years.
Marcella and Joe loved to travel and made numerous trips to musical shows in Branson, Missouri with friends. They also traveled to Northern Virginia, North Carolina and Mississippi to visit family. There was numerous trips within their beloved state of Texas to visit family, friends and to sightsee. Marcella also traveled to Germany in the 1980’s to visit family.
Marcella was a Pink Lady and volunteered at Park Place Hospital in Port Arthur for several years. She made numerous friends as a volunteer there.
She is survived by daughters, Velda Prince of La Porte, Mollie Klemas and husband Gary of San Antonio, sons, Steve B. and Joe E. Moore, both of Port Arthur, and Kenneth R. Moore and wife Judy of Houston, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one nephew and six nieces.
The family would like to offer special thanks to Marcella’s care givers, Natasha Bright and Angelia Mungle, who treated her like family in her final years.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 3 pm in the Chapel of Grand View Funeral Home. A reception will follow immediately after at Grand View Funeral Home.
