Maria Barreiro Guice was born on December 28, 1928 in Sancti Spiritus, Cuba and went to be with our Lord and Savior on September 18, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ramon Barreiro Garcianino and Rosa Marie Leiva Rangel and her grandson Luke Arnold. She is survived by her sisters, Gladys Barreiro and Maria Barreiro, brother Mongo Barreiro, her son Ralph Guice and wife Sonya, and daughter, Maria Sanchez and husband Augustin. Maria was also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren and a multitude of those who love her dearly.
She worked and retired from Lee College in Baytown. She had a unique way of bringing joy to all those around her. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful staff of Faith Community Hospice and Waterford Assisted Living for their kindness and love.
Visitation will be held on September 24, 2015 from 7:00pm to 8:00pm with a Rosary to begin at 6:00pm at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, Texas 77505. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 25, 2015 at 10:00am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 816 Park Road, La Porte, Texas 77571 with Interment to follow at Grand View Memorial Park.
