It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Mario Anda, a beloved son, grandson, nephew, brother, cousin, friend, and young man who left us too soon. Mario passed away on February 12, 2023, at the age of 28, leaving behind a community of loved ones who are mourning his passing.
Mario was born to his parents, Mario and Cindy Anda, on January 6, 1995 in Pasadena, TX. He grew up in, as he would say, “D-Block”, and attended Deepwater Elementary, Deepwater Junior High School, and graduated from Deer Park High School. It was there, where he met his lifelong friends and together, made “bad decisions”, and enjoyed every minute of them. These “bad decisions” left us with beautiful memories that we will forever be thankful for.
As a kid Mario always wanted to be a “grown up”, loved to spend time with his Papi Hugo riding along with him in his dump truck, and for a long time wanted to be a truck driver. In 2018, Mario was so proud to be accepted into the Plumbers Union #68 and looked forward to “turning out” from apprenticeship school next year. He enjoyed every minute of his career and was eager to learn and do great things.
Mario will be remembered for his big heart, infectious spirit, silly pranks, and his unwavering love for life. Being the “grown ass man” of the house, he always took care of his little cousins. He made sure to keep them all on the right path and set them straight when they fell off track. “Mayito” had a smile that lit up any room he walked into and his laughter was a sound that brought joy to those around him.
Mario was taken from us far too soon, and his passing has left a hole in the hearts of all who knew him. We take comfort in knowing that his legacy will live on through the many lives he touched during his time with us. He is survived by his parents, Mario and Cynthia Anda, sister Analee Anda, his girlfriend Eliana Saldaña, his many uncles and aunts Arturo and Maria Garcia, Alejandro and Jessica Raymundo, Orlando and Tanya Lopez, Delfino and Natalie Rosales, Carlos Anda, Enrique Anda, Francisco Anda, Arturo Anda, Pablo Anda, Juana Anda, and his cousins, Alonso, Manuel, Arturo, Yadira, Natalie, Ivan, Zeida, Zaid, Bryant, Julian, Alexia, Arielle, and Adelaida.
We extend our deepest condolences to Mario’s family and loved ones, and ask that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Rest easy and know that you will never be forgotten.
Friends and acquaintances of the Anda family are respectfully invited to attend the funeral services of Mario.
The Viewing will be held on Monday, February 20, 2023 from 1-8 p.m. at Grand View Funeral Home with a Rosary at 6:30 p.m. and funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. followed by the burial.
