Martin Velasquez

Martin passed peacefully from this life on the morning of March 2nd after a gradual decline in health. He was surrounded and supported by his loving family and friends during his life. Martin was born in Reynosa, TAM, but was a traveler of all states and many countries. He was a true rolling stone, jack of ALL trades & master of all. Loved by everyone he met, especially kids. Martin was a generous man always looking to give. He was a free soul and lived a carefree life. You could find him fishing on any given day or making a gourmet meal in your kitchen. Martin would always captivate us with his amazing stories and experiences. No matter where or who he would visit, he was able to make conversation and an instant friend. He never took life too seriously and treated people with respect. Martin loved and enjoyed life.

Martin is survived by his father Luis Velasquez: Five brothers and sisters: Alvaro, Luis A, Teresa, Magdalena and Guadalupe. Martin is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who’s hearts he forever touched.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Grand View Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at 12:30 with interment to follow at Grand View Memorial Park.
