Mavis Marvin Tyler passed away on December 31, 2016 at the age of 92 in Pasadena, Texas at her home. She was born to Malcolm Varner and Addie Mae Young Varner on December 3, 1924 in Chriesman, Texas. Mavis worked as a Social Worker for the State of Texas for many years prior to retiring. She played Basketball in High School and was on a Bowling League. She enjoyed line dancing and Square Dancing the TAI CHI as well as sewing her own clothes and gardening.
Mavis was preceded in death by her husband; Calvin Cornelius Tyler Jr.
She is survived by sons: Calvin (Gene) and wife Barb Tyler of Amelia, Ohio and Robert (Bob) Tyler; grandson: Jeremy Brian Tyler and Christopher Troy Tyler and great grandson: Jesse Tyler.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 5, 2016 at Grand View Funeral Home from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Funeral Service will be on Friday, January 6, 2016 at Grand View Funeral Home at 11:00am with Dr. Jon Redmond of First Baptist Church of Pasadena, Texas officiating.
Interment will follow at Grand View Memorial Park immediately following the Funeral Service.
