Nelda J Newkirk

Nelda Jean Newkirk, 84, of La Porte, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 with her loving family by her side. She was born in Booneville, Mississippi, on March 13, 1940, to the late Chester and Florence Wileman Floyd. Nelda married a young man named Billie Newkirk, who very quickly became the love of her life. Together they raised two amazing boys David and Darryl.

Nelda pursued many interests, some of which were spending time with her precious family. She was an avid collector of Barbie Dolls, Beanie Babies, China, and porcelain dolls. Nelda enjoyed the simple things in life, like sitting outside on the porch playing with her cats or watching the birds.

Nelda was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Oletha Lina; and her brother Marlene Floyd. She leaves behind to cherish her loving memory her beloved husband of sixty years Billie; her sons David and Darryl; her numerous nieces, nephews; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

A visitation for Nelda will be held Wednesday, November 13, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, TX 77505. A funeral service will occur Thursday, November 14, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, TX 77505. A graveside service will occur Thursday, November 14, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Grand View Memorial Park, 8516 Spencer Hwy, Deer Park, TX 77536.
