Olga J. Harbison

On May 29, 2017, in the afternoon, Olga Jo (Barcelo) Harbison quietly left this Earth to join her beloved husband, William, in Heaven. Born February 8, 1932 in Manchester, Houston, Texas, to Fredrick Jo and Isabell Emma Barcelo. Olga attended Harris Elementary, Deady Middle and Milby High schools. She and Bill lived and raised their children in Pasadena for over 65 years. Opening Olga's Day Nursery on West Ellaine was a labor of love for her. Then, Olga worked for over 13 years making the world a more beautiful place through the cosmetics department at JC Penney Almeda. Afterward, she became a viewing attendant/greeter at Grandview Memorial Funeral Home. Survived by precious sister , Zilla Bell(Dale)Kucera. Son Frederick Harbison, daughter Frances Harbison and partner Moses Pomaikai, Grandson William Harbison. Granddaughter Ashley Higgins and partner John Scott. Great granddaughters, Bayleigh, Raegan and LoraJo, and special nieces Barbara Fox, Karen Anagnostou, Kristen Fox and Brandy Michelle Lewis many other much loved nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by Father, Fredrick, Mother, Isabell and brother, Kenneth Barcelo. Olga was a member of Austin Avenue Baptist Church, and then Faith Missionary Baptist, in Houston. Olga and Bill loved to hunt, fish and travel, and were exceptional gardeners. Family visitation will begin 4pm to 5pm and public visitation 5pm to 8pm, on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 and funeral services will commence at 2pm on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Grand View Funeral Home/Grand View Memorial Park 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, TX 77505 281-479-6076
