Reagan was an awesome photographer, and a wonderful, giving, loving man. He was a great son for Aunt Elizabeth.

We are having Raleigh Nubbin Atkinson enrolled/remembered in the daily Franciscan Masses, Prayers, Good Works Worldwide. Nubbin was a special man of God with his many acts of good will, an excellent photographer,  always there for others cheerfully, and very close to his Mom. As kids, I remember so many Sundays at Grandma's Ranch all the cousins having great times together. May God wrap Nubbin in His Love and Peace in Heaven!

A kind and gentle soul.  He loved his family, friends, and his Lord.
I was blessed for Reagan (Nubbin) to have been my brother-in-law.

I met Reagan (AKA Nubbin to many) at First Baptist Church in the late 70s.  He was a loving son to his parents (Joe and Elizabeth Atkinson) and cared for his mom after his dad passed away in January 1988 (his mom passed in December 2011).  Nubbin was the last of the Atkinson family, survived only by nieces and nephews.  Nubbin was such a kind, gentle, quiet, humble, talented man of God.  I would say he was a man always seeking God's own heart – a man of extreme integrity and faithfulness.  If you ever sat with him long enough, he would tell you about Jesus.  I remember Nubbin collecting teddy bears – hundreds of them – and then gave them all to the children at Texas Children's Hospital! He just wanted to share the love of God everywhere and bring comfort to the children by giving them one of his bears.  Now God called him home to be with his family… reunited once again and forever in the presence of Jesus!  He loved his friends and never forgot a birthday – he would sign them "Keep the Faith"…most of the cards he created especially for the person.  Nubbin loved photography, always had a camera either around his neck or in his pocket (as cameras became digital).  He encouraged me to love photography as well and I do to this day.  When he worked at Houston Camera Exchange, and I would only buy my cameras/lens from him as it gave me a chance to hug his neck and visit a bit as well as gain knowledge.  I loved Reagan/Nubbin as many others did.  I was blessed to call him "Friend".  

Thank you David and  FBC Pasadena for planning and having a memorial service for this wonderful, big-hearted, humble man of God. If everyone who knew Nubbin attended this service, the place would be standing room only!  Nubbin, thank you for "Keepin' the Faith" and giving to the Lord, you changed many lives during your earthly walk.  See you at the House! 


I have known Reagan since elementary school and for many years at First Baptist Church Pasadena.  Reagan, also known as Nubbin, was quiet, humble, gentle, kind, talented, and more. He was a caring son to his parents, Joe and Elizabeth Atkinson. He was a gifted photographer and I remember him carrying his professional camera around his neck when he was at church taking candid pictures. Reagan processed the film and gave you the pictures because he loved sharing his gift. He photographed my most treasured picture of my daughter.  Also, for decades, Reagan encouraged people by sending them birthday cards every year and the cards were often designed by him.  He was a man of integrity and faithful in his walk with the Lord.  I am blessed to have known Reagan and I am thankful for his friendship. (Reagan’s parents and brothers preceded him in death.)
