Celebrating the Life of Raul C. Tapia, born on December 12, 1926 in Durango, Mexico where he lived until 1970. His parents were Jose Tapia and Leonor Castillo Tapia. Raul attended Escuela Secundaria school where he earned his high school diploma. After graduation he began a career in the oil and gas industry as a petroleum engineer foreman. Raul lived in many places across Mexico and Texas. He retired in 1988 after working 44 years. Raul was married to Hermelinda Tapia Linares for 55 years. The births of his 10 children were his most important life events. Raul loved spending time with his family. He was a faithful member of St. Pius V Catholic Church.
After retiring, Raul enjoyed woodworking and loved the creativity it allowed him. He also loved to play cards, shoot pool, and learning English. He to pleasure in listening to the Spanish music from his era.
Raul is preceded in death by his wife Hermelinda Tapia Linares. Those left to cherish his memory are his three daughters and seven sons; 26 grandchildren; and great grandchildren; and special friends Panchito, Rolando, and Charles.
