He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mae Lambert, brother Lloyd Joseph Lambert Sr. and sister Joyce Marie Bourg.
He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II and later resided in Texas City, Texas where he began the profession of a pipe fitter.
After retiring from pipefitting, he worked for the Texas City school district in the Maintenance Department. He relocated to the Houston area in his later years.
Roland enjoyed the simple aspects in life and passed this appreciation to all he met. He is survived by his nephew Lloyd Joseph Lambert Jr. and wife Michelle, niece Yvette Rogers and husband Steve along with numerous great nieces and nephews. A visitation will take place at Grand View Funeral Home in Pasadena on Sunday, February 20, 2011 at 4:00 pm with a Rosary at 5:00 pm. A graveside service will be on Monday, February 21, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery.
