On Saturday, October 8, 2022, Sherron Elaine Weeks was called to her eternal Home at the age of seventy eight. She celebrated life with a robust joy unique to her, and with a depth that others wished they could experience. Sherron – known to her children and grandchildren as “Poopsie,” – was born in Houston, Texas, in 1944. Growing up in a large family of all girls, the concept of “sisterhood” was part of her core. That same spirit of sisterhood went beyond her siblings; it extended to her three daughters she loved so very deeply, her daughters’ friends, and her own friends with whom she maintained deep connections. She was a “girlie-girl”: feminine, gentle and tender-hearted. She loved and accepted all of God’s gifts as miracles: people, animals (notably her dogs), gardening, Bunco with her girlfriends, and travel. Known for her infectious smile, her distinctive laugh and her bright eyes, Sherron was at her happiest when she was surrounded by the people she loved. Family and friends were her life. Sherron is preceded in death by her parents, Dail Carl Blue, and Mary Alice Blue. She is survived by her adoring husband and perfect life partner, Thomas Weeks, the man she loved dearly. She is also survived by her five sisters: Diana Herrington, Theresa Benson, Alice Carlene Blue Preston, Darlene Preston, and Mary Dail Jones. If Sherron was here, she would certainly be hugging her three daughters tightly: Alicen Cain, Marchelle Cook, and Stephanie Longa. They are the centers and pillars of her life. She is also survived by two sons-in-law, Arthur Hults and Joey Longa. Her beautiful grandchildren are Benay Wettle, Teyah Hind, Hank Hults, Bryce Hults, Aidan Hults, Taylor Longa and Emily Longa. She always beamed when she was with them, and they will always be a source of genuine pride for her. Always the social one, Sherron leaves behind many others whom she loved, and they loved her in return: nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends, friends of her daughters, and so many others whose lives were fortunate to encounter her spirit. Sherron’s life will be celebrated at a memorial service in her honor, 1:00 P.M. on Monday, October 17, 2022, at Grand View Funeral Home & Memorial Park, Pasadena, Texas.
