Stephen Earl Oliver

Steve was a 1968 graduate of Deer Park High School and joined the United States Navy shortly after. Steve proudly served our country during the Vietnam War while stationed in the Azores with a Navy Enlisted Classification of Aircraft Structural Mechanic and was honorably discharged after 4 years of military service. Steve joined the civilian workforce and began a nearly 40 year career in construction and maintenance in the petrochemical field along the Texas Gulf Coast.

Steve enjoyed camping, fishing, boating, hunting and spending time with his family. He was a lifetime sports fan and enjoyed watching the Houston Oilers, the Houston Texans, and the Houston Astros.

Steve is preceded in death by his parents Lewis Oliver and Jeannine Ott Oliver, brothers Donald Lewis Oliver and Marion Ray Oliver (BB), son Lee David Turner, and grandson Mitchell Arron Turner.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Rosemary Oliver, sons, Sidney Daniel Turner Jr. of Deer Park, Timothy Edward Turner of Deer Park, Alan Matthew Turner and wife Monique of La Porte, 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great- grandson. He also leaves behind his sister Holly Oliver Odom and husband Charles “Buddy”Odom of Mont Belvieu and brother-in-law Bennie Walker of Houston.

A Memorial Celebration of Steve's life will be held Monday, March 2 at 10:00AM in the Yellow Rose Chapel of Grand View Funeral Home located at 8501 Spencer Hwy Pasadena, TX 77505.
