Sybil is survived by her husband of 60 years Ben Speckels Jr.; daughter Janice Miller and husband James, their two sons Jason Miller and wife Donna, Jeremy Miller and fiancé Ashley; daughter Cheryl Shears and husband Jay and their three children, Jared Shears and wife Katie, Kayla Shears, Joe Shears; daughter Brenda Fields and husband Gregory; siblings Jerry Clanton and wife Beverly; step brother Samuel McCulloch; and numerous nieces, nephews and grandcritters.
Sybil is preceded in death by her parents Edgar and Mona Clanton and sister Joy Bates.
Sybil was born in Ingleside, Texas and raised in Aransas Pass, Texas. She graduated from Aransas Pass High School in 1951. She received an RN degree from Seton School of Nursing in Austin, Texas. She worked 26 years as a surgical supervisor at Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas.
Sybil was a member of South Main Baptist Church in Pasadena, Texas.
A private burial will be at Forest Park East Cemetery. Her family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the many prayers and to those who cared for Sybil during this time.
