Tommy Sheffield

Tom R. Sheffield, 75, of Pasadena, Texas, passed away December 18, 2018. He was born in Sanford, North Carolina on Flag Day! June 14, 1943 to James Sheffield and Josephine Barrick. He was married to Lynda L. Sheffield for 54 wonderful years.

Tom was in the Army first, then decided to enlist in the Air Force in which he had a career staying for over 32 years. Tom worked as a GS-12 in civil service. When he finally “retired”, he went to work part time at the golf course. Golf being a passion of his, as well as fishing, Tom enjoyed his occupation, but nothing compared to his love for his family that he would do everything he could to ensure their happiness.

Tom also loved his country and being in the military. He would often say that he would put his uniform back on in a heartbeat if ever called active again. He was so proud to be a part of the military establishment, when he talked about all his adventures you couldn’t help but get excited right along with him.

Tom Sheffield was preceded in death by his parents, James Sheffield and Josephine Barrick; son, Tommy R. Sheffield Jr; and brother in law, Tom Frederick.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lynda Sheffield; daughter, Cathy Sheffield and spouse Theresa Glavin; daughter in law, Sally Sheffield; granddaughter, Kristie Ortiz and husband Eric; grandson, Tommy R Sheffield III ((Trey); great granddaughter, Ivy Ortiz; brothers, Russ Barrick and wife Marilyn, Bill Barrick and wife Myrna. Lynda’s brothers, Bill Frederick and wife Janet with daughters Gina and Sonia with their spouses and children, Harry Frederick and wife Kim with daughter Karlie, Tony Frederick and spouse Dave Harrison; sister, Donna Clark and husband Charlie with sons, Garrett and Jordan, and last but not least, his beloved dog, Bandy and kitty, Sammie.

Tom made friends easily and he will be sorely missed by his numerous lifelong friends. But most of all, he will be profoundly missed by his family.

Tom will always be remembered, always be missed, but never forgotten.
