

Vickie Charlene Gentile, 67, of Kingwood, TX, passed away November 5th, 2024. She was born in Casa Grande, AZ on January 25th, 1957 to Charles and Lena Kellams. She was married to Joseph Gentile for 43 years.
Joseph met Vickie working together at 7 Santini Bros in 1979. After the birth of their second child Vickie would go back to school to earn her bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Houston – Clear Lake. She started her career at La Porte ISD as a 3rd grade teacher at Rizzuto Elementary and would go on to earn Teacher of the Year in 1998. In the early 2000’s she went back and earned her master’s degree from the University of Houston – Clear Lake. After a few years of being the Assistant Principal she would go on to become the Principal at Lomax Elementary. During her time at Lomax the campus had the honor of receiving the Blue Ribbon Award, a prestigious award that recognizes academic excellence. She would go on to become Principal at Bayshore Elementary, where she retired in 2016. Shortly after her retirement she would volunteer as a kids advocate at CASA, where she acted as the spokesperson for abused children.
Her legacy was teaching and helping children in any way she could. She will continue teaching in heaven in the hands our lord, Jesus Christ.
She was preceded in death by grandparents Pete and Myrtle Contella, Aunt and Uncle Toni and Vick Contella, Father-in-law Archie Gentile.
She is survived by her husband Joseph, Son’s Ryan and Eric, Daughter-in-laws Stephanie and Megan, Grandchildren Jonathan, Rowan, Claire, and Emma. Vickie's mom Lena, sister Valerie, Niece’s Lindsay and Whitney, and cousins Jackie and Debi Labebera, Phillip and Michael Contella.
A visitation for Vickie will be held Friday, November 15, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, TX 77505. A funeral will occur Saturday, November 16, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Bayshore Baptist Church, 11315 Spencer Hwy, La Porte, TX 77571.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Vickie's memory may be made to St. Jude's Hospital, www.stjude.org; Gary Sinise Foundation, www.GarySiniseFoundation.org; and Tunnels for Towers, www.t2t.org.
Lunch will be served after the committal service Noon - 2pm. Bayshore Baptist Church Gym. 11315 Spencer Hwy La Porte TX 77571.
