William Thomas Brandenburg, age 75, passed away peacefully May 21st, 2021 surrounded by family. He was born September 15th, 1945 in San Antonio, Tx to Margaret “Peggy” and V.E.R. “Brandy” Brandenburg. Bill grew up in Grandfalls, Tx where he started 1st grade and later graduated in 1964.
Bill is survived by his loving wife Carolyn of 44 years, daughters Lori Cline (Allen “Peanut” Heard), Tammy (James) Banks, Carol (Alton) Bogs, and Malissa Riggins (Frank Ordonez), son Sean (Shaun Ann) Sliger, 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. Bill was a loving father, husband, papa, and friend to everyone he met.
Bill loved working in his garage and doing household projects. His favorite pastime was visiting his Lake House in Livingston, Tx where he spent many weekends with his grandkids going on four-wheeler rides, cruising on the pontoon boat, and hanging out at the swimming hole. He is most known for his Papa-isum’s, which we have all learned to say and laugh at still to this day. Trust me, he knew “all about the Armadillo.” Bill was always there to offer a lending hand and would give you the shirt off his back. He found joy in giving to others and was simply just a phone call away.
Bill started work in the oil field and later went to work at Rexene Polymers in Odessa, Tx. He moved to Pasadena, Tx in 1973 and went to work for Ethyl Corporation, which later became Albemarle Corporation. He worked as an operator, painter, welder, and retired after 36 years of service as a mechanic. Bill was a dedicated employee and active union member of OCAW, PACE, and USW.
The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to the caregivers at Colonial Oaks of Pearland for their loving care and support during Bill’s dementia progression. We truly appreciate you being so accommodating and understanding during his final days.
A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date.
