Beatriz Gutierrez

Beatriz Gutierrez, age 85, of Pharr, Texas, entered the gates of Heaven on Thursday, September 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. A woman of deep faith, unwavering devotion, and boundless kindness, Beatriz lived a life marked by selflessness and love.

Beatriz was a lifelong member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, where she spent her younger years teaching CCE classes and sharing her love of faith with the children of her community. She also dedicated 34 years of her life to the students of PSJA ISD, where her nurturing spirit and compassionate heart touched countless lives.

Beatriz had a special gift for making others feel welcomed and loved. Her home was a sanctuary, always open to family and friends, especially her nieces and nephews, whom she cherished and cared for as if they were her own. She was the heart of every family gathering, especially during the holidays. Christmas was her favorite season, and she found great joy in decorating her home and cooking meals that brought the whole family together. Her Thanksgiving dinners were legendary, and her famous fruit salad will long be remembered as a symbol of her love.

In her quiet moments, Beatriz enjoyed watching movies on the Hallmark Channel, shopping on QVC, and baking sweet treats for those she loved. She lived with grace, humility, and a deep love for her family — a love that will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

Beatriz is survived by her siblings Eloy Gutierrez (Yolanda), Erasmo Gutierrez (Rosie), Samuel Gutierrez (Lupita), and Emma Munguia (Guillermo); her nieces Erica Munguia and Melissa Alvarado (Joe); along with 19 nieces and nephews and countless great-nieces and nephews who will carry forward her legacy of love.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Eugenio and Olivia C. Gutierrez; her brother Eugenio "Gene" Gutierrez (Irma); and her sister Sylvia Garcia (Oscar).

A visitation will be held on Monday, September 8, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Palm Valley, 4607 North Sugar Road, Pharr, TX 78577, with a Rosary beginning at 7:00 PM. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 122 W Hawk Ave, Pharr, TX 78577. Burial will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jeremy Alvarado, Mark Garcia, Eloy Gutierrez Jr., Erasmo Gutierrez Jr., Erica Munguia, and Guillermo Munguia II.

Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing that Beatriz’s life was one well-lived, and her legacy of love, kindness, and faith will forever live on in all who were blessed to know her.
