Carlos Martinez, 74, of Hidalgo, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2026. He was born on July 13, 1951, in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico, where he was raised and formed the strong values of faith, family, and hard work that guided him throughout his life.
Carlos shared 48 devoted years of marriage with his beloved wife, Cecilia Duque Martinez. Together they built a life centered on love and family. He is survived by Cecilia and their children: Pedro, Carlos, Isaac, Esau, and Anieli Martinez. He also leaves behind his cherished siblings: Juan Bernardo, Magdalena Soberon, Josefina, Maria del Carmen, Jose Luis, Jesus Maria, Enrique, and Alvaro Martinez.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan Bernardo and Eulalia Martinez, and his brother, Arturo Martinez.
A skilled and dedicated welder, Carlos took great pride in his work. His profession allowed him to travel and experience new places, opportunities he valued deeply. Outside of work, he enjoyed playing dominoes, trying his luck with lottery scratch-offs, and watching soccer and boxing matches.
Above all, Carlos treasured his role as a father and grandfather. He found immense joy in his children and grandchildren and held a special place in his heart for his many nieces and nephews. His warmth, humor, and unwavering love for his family will be remembered always.
Visitation will be held on February 26, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with a chapel service at 7:00 p.m., at Funeraria Del Angel Palm Valley, 4607 North Sugar Road, Pharr, Texas 78577.
Carlos will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
