She retired after 24 years of serving the PSJA District education system, she focused on spending quality time with her family and enjoyed life.
Concepcion is preceded in in death by her parents, Amelia Leija and Joel Ruiz; her grandfather and grandmother, Severino and Santos Hernandez Garcia.
She is survived by her longtime companion, Emilio Sanchez; her daughter, Marina Marie (Samuel) Reyna; her two granddaughters, Samantha Marie (Marcus) Martinez and Emily Renee Reyna; her great-granddaughter Nova Marie Martinez; her nine siblings, Rafael "Lupe" Guadalupe (Alicia) Ortiz, Graciela O. "Chelita" Bencomo, Mario Rafael "Rafa" (Cristina) Ortiz, Jorge (Maria) Ortiz, Francisco "Pancho" (Norma) Ortiz, Ofelia (Zeke+) Flores, Ramon Ortiz, Clara (Bernie) Hernandez, Jaime (Delia) Ortiz, and many extended family and friends.
A visitation will be held Thursday, July 13, 2023 at Funeraria Del Angel Palm Valley in Pharr from 5pm to 10pm with a rosary service at 7pm. A catholic mass will be held Friday, July 14, 2023 at 9am at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with a burial to follow at 10am at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens.
