

Delfino Olivarez, 92, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Amara Hospice in Edinburg. He was born on December 24, 1923 to Severo Olivarez, Sr. and Concepcion Saenz Olivarez in Santa Rita, Texas.
Delfino was a strong, decisive man, who knew how to get things done. Above all else, he loved God, his wife, and his family, and devoted his whole life to working with them in mind. He was a godly man, who leaves a legacy of faithfulness and love. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Elidia Olivarez and daughter, Linda Cristina Olivarez Tamez; his parents, brother, Santiago Olivarez, Sr. and sister, Concepcion “Concha” Gonzalez.
He is survived by his children, Delfino Olivarez, Jr., Elizabeth (Abel) Olivarez Gonzalez, Rick (Maria Elena) Olivarez, Danny (Tina) Olivarez, Cindy (Roy) Cervantes; brothers, Cheve Olivarez and Oscar Olivarez; sisters, Gloria Bermudes and Ramona Barrera; grandchildren, Isaac Tamez, Xylia Gonzalez, Elizabeth Gonzalez, Denise Gonzalez, Cristina Gonzalez, Norma E. Olivarez, Rick Olivarez, Jr., Lynda Olivarez, Allyssa Olivarez, Sophia Olivarez, Roy A. Cervantes, Aaron C. Cervantes and great-grandchildren, Danielle, Dylan, Isaac Jr., Aaron, Aaliyah and Aiden.
Family will receive friends Today, Sunday, October 9, 2016 from 3pm – 9pm with a prayer service at 7pm at Palm Valley Funeral Home in Pharr. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 10, 2016 at 10am at Palm Valley Funeral Home. Burial will follow to Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission. Funeral Services have been entrusted to Palm Valley Funeral Home of Pharr.
