Born in Pharr, Texas, to the late Encarnacíon Lopez and Gerarda Salazar de Lopez. A deeply family-oriented and traditional man, Jesus was known for his devotion to faith and family. For many years, he proudly participated in the annual December 12th pilgrimage honoring Our Lady of Guadalupe—an expression of his strong cultural and religious roots. Jesus married the love of his life, Martina Villegas, and together they raised five children. His career as a shed truck driver took him across the United States, giving him a love for travel, nature, and exploring the open road. No matter where he went, his heart was always with his family.
He held Father’s Day especially dear-day he cherished as a celebration of his role as a father. His children and grandchildren were truly the light of his life, and he leaves behind a legacy full of love, stories, and cherished memories that will be passed down for generations.
Jesus will be remembered for his warm heart, his deep values, generosity, and the joy he brought to everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Jesus was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years of marriage, Martina Villegas-Lopez; his five children, Magali Lopez, Jesus V. (Gracie) Lopez, Jr., Jose V. Lopez, Jaime V.
