Jose Concepción Camacho

Jose was born on January 1, 1939, in Nuevo León, Mexico. Known to many simply as Camacho, he worked most of his life in the oil and gas industry. He was known for his strong work ethic and dependability. His career spanned over 50 years, including more than 22 years as a gas and diesel mechanic with Jen’s Oil Field Services.

On November 9, 1963, Jose married the love of his life, Berta Cortez. They shared 62 years of marriage and built a life centered around family, love, and faith.

Jose was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family and will be remembered for his strength and love.

He is survived by his wife, Berta Cortez Camacho; his children, Nancy Camacho Vela of Edinburg, Texas; Julio Camacho (Norma) of Edinburg, Texas; Marc Camacho (Elizabeth) of Donna, Texas; and Noel Camacho (Belinda) of San Antonio, Texas.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brittany Marie Vela; Julio César (JC) Camacho (Lilly); Jeremiah (Jeremy) Camacho; Victoria Jean Kinler (Brittany); Marco Camacho II; Alexia Camacho (Kim); Tristan Samuel Camacho; and Andrew Sierra (Tanya); and his great-grandchildren, Madison and Alyssa Sierra. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Jose was preceded in death by his daughter, Sonia V. Camacho, and his great-granddaughter, Florence Kinler.

A visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Palm Valley, 4607 North Sugar Road, Pharr, Texas, on January 27, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A rosary will be held at 6:30 p.m. the same evening.

A Catholic Mass will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Palm Valley on January 28, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens, Pharr, Texas, at 11:00 a.m.

Jose will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
