Julie was born on July 9, 1958, in Toppenish, Washington, to the late Eulalia Santoy Salazar and Luis Salazar. She later made her home in the Rio Grande Valley, where she built a life centered around family, faith, hard work, and kindness.
Julie dedicated more than 30 years of service to H-E-B before retiring. She also attended Pan American College in Edinburg, Texas, now known as The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. She was known for her independence, creativity, and caring nature.
Julie found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved cooking for those she cared about, spending time outdoors, barbecuing, baking, and crafting. She especially enjoyed making elaborate homecoming mums, sharing her creativity with family and friends. Julie loved celebrating the holidays and always went above and beyond to make them special and memorable for everyone around her.
She was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed watching every chance she got. Julie also loved spending her evenings watching true crime shows, classic western movies, and most importantly, being surrounded by family. A devoted Catholic, she faithfully recited the Holy Rosary every evening at 8 p.m., a reflection of her deep faith and devotion to God.
Julie will be remembered for her kind heart, generous soul, beautiful smile, and her deep love for animals. Her warmth and compassion touched all who knew her, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those she loved.
Left to cherish her memory are her brothers, Miles Salazar, Robert Salazar, and Rudy Salazar, along with numerous extended family members and dear friends.
The family would like to extend their deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to her devoted caretaker, Miranda Lee Zecca, for the unwavering love, kindness, and care she so selflessly gave Julie. Thank you for remaining faithfully by her side and for never leaving her during her time of greatest need.
They also extend their sincere gratitude to Michelle and Vince Zecca, as well as the Torres Family, for the abundant love, support, and care they so generously shared with Julie.
Julie’s love, faith, and spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
