Pedro Echavarria, age 69, of Alamo, Texas entered Heaven's Gates on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at McAllen Heart Hospital in McAllen. Pedro was born May 27, 1952 in Mexico to the late Guadalupe and Manuela Echavarria. Pedro married the love of his life, Alicia in 1978 and together they were blessed to celebrate 43 wedding anniversaries and have two beautiful children, Angela and Amy.
Pedro was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, loved one and friend. To family and friends who knew him best, Pedro will be remembered as a very exceptional person. Fortunately, Pedro enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Pedro worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career working as an employee for the Department of Health and Human Services before his retirement, he dedicated 15+ years.
Pedro enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in various hobbies but his passion was sharing his interests with others especially spending time with his family. He was a devout catholic and huge sports fan; he enjoyed following his favorite teams such as the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers.
Simply stated, Pedro was a good and kind person, who would do anything to help anyone in need. He was an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as caring, outgoing and funny-someone who was a vital part of their lives. Pedro will continue to shine in the hearts of his family and friends as he leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories.
Pedro is survived by his beloved family: wife, Alicia Echavarria; daughters, Angela Medina(Gregorio), and Amy Echavarria-Martinez(Abraham); grandchildren, Yanessi, Aaralyn, Mrenden, Noah, and Emma; siblings, Fela, Guadalupe, Socorro and Susana along with various extended family and friends..
He is preceded in death by his Father, Guadalupe Echavarria; Mother, Manuela Rodriguez Echavarria; and siblings, Pepe and Concepcion.
A visitation for Pedro will be held Sunday, January 9, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Palm Valley, Pharr with a rosary being recited at 5:00 PM inside the Remembrance Gallery. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Margaret Marys in Pharr on Monday, January 10, 2022 at 2:00 pm. His interment is sheduled to follow at 3:00 pm at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens also in Pharr.
