With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Porfirio Lozano (Pilo), who left this world surrounded by love and cherished memories. Born on January 29, 1949, in McAllen, Texas, to Genoveva Desiga and Maximiano Lozano, Porfirio lived a life full of warmth, laughter, and simple joys.
Porfirio was a man who found happiness in life’s everyday treasures. He had an eye for hidden gems at thrift stores and yard sales. He took pleasure in the quiet moments of picking strawberries. A lover of tradition and good company, he enjoyed playing Lotería, where his laughter and competitive spirit made every game a memorable one.
He also had a deep love for food and the familiar comfort of his favorite restaurants—Denny’s, Waffle House, and Los Compadres—where he shared countless meals and conversations with family and friends. It was in these places, over plates of his favorite dishes, that stories were told, memories were made, and love was felt.
Pilo’s greatest joy was always his family and friends. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome, of turning ordinary moments into special ones. His kindness, humor, and unwavering love will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
Porfirio is survived by his children, his brothers and sisters, and his cherished grandchildren.
As we say goodbye, we take comfort in knowing that Porfirio’s spirit lives on in the laughter of a good game, the joy of a great bargain, and the warmth of a shared meal.
Rest easy, Pilo. You will always be in our hearts.
