Raul Soto

surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Karnes City, TX, he was a lifetime resident of Pharr and member of

St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. In 1959, Raul married the love of his life,

Aurelia and together they had a loving and caring family with four children.

Mr. Soto was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He dedicated his life to his loving wife, whom he reminded daily of how much

he loved her. Mr. Soto frequently would serenate Aurelia with love songs.

He was a role model to his children and grandchildren. He taught them the love

for music, especially mexican trios. Mr. Soto encouraged his children to further

their education and never stop until their dreams came true. The happiest days

of his life were seeing his children and grandchildren graduate from college.

Raul was the grandpa that spoiled and prayed for his loved ones. He enjoyed

family gatherings and BBQ's on football Sundays. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy

fan and also enjoyed watching the Astros play. He will be greatly missed by his family

and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Esteban and Virginia Soto; and his

four brothers, Modesto, Juan,Tomas, and Pedro Soto.

Raul is survived by his wife of 64 years of marriage, Aurelia Soto; his four children,

Irasema (Jose) Padilla, Raul (Sonia) Soto, Jr., Eduardo Soto, Rolando (Leticia) Soto;

five grandchildren, Steven (Heather) Mendoza, Marc Soto (Kayla), Andrea Soto,

Joseph Padilla, Matthew Soto; three great-grandchildren, Natalie Mendoza,

Sydney Mendoza, Steven Mendoza, Jr.; his brother, Santos (Berta) Martinez;

and extended family.

Visitation will be held from 5 pm to 9:30 pm, with a 7 pm rosary, on Thursday,

August 1, 2024, at Funeraria del Angel Palm Valley in Pharr. Visitation will resume

at 9 am on Friday, August 2, 2024, at Funeraria del Angel Palm Valley in Pharr.

The Catholic Mass will be held at 1 pm, on Friday, August 2, 2024, at St. Margaret

Mary Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial

Gardens in Pharr.

Funeral services are under the direction of Funeraria del Angel Palm Valley in Pharr.
