

Rogelio “Roy” E. Garza went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 16th, 2024. He was born June 1st, 1943 in Alamo, Texas. After he graduated from PSJA High School, he enlisted in the United States Army. Upon returning from the military, Rogelio married the love of his life, Alicia Garza (Guerra) in 1966. They were married for 52 years until her passing in 2018.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, David (Lourdes) Rene Garza, Rogelio “Roy” Garza, and Diana (Steve) Rebecca Morrison; and his grandchildren, Anthony Jacob Garza, Sophia Alicia Morrison, and Giselle (Jorge) Anahi Reyes. Rogelio also enjoyed visits with his great-granddaughter, Luna Ariel Macias, who entertained him with her dancing.
Rogelio was the eldest sibling of a large, loving family and is preceded in death by his sister, Maria del Rosario “Chala” Lopez (Erasmo). He will be greatly missed by his sister, Maria del Refugio “Cookie” De Leon (Gilbert), and five brothers, Mariano Garza (Armandina), Artemio Garza (Diana), Ramiro Garza (Diana), Ruben Garza (Estella), Roel Garza, and brother-in-law Gilbert Lucio (Janie.) He was also loved and respected by his many nieces and nephews.
Rogelio’s focus in life was always on his beloved family and he took great pride in his children and grandchildren.
Rogelio loved hunting, fishing, and spending time at the Pharr Rifle and Pistol Club with his multitude of friends and family members. His absence within the Pharr community will be felt by many.
At Rogelio’s request, a private family viewing and interment will be held at Palm Valley Funeral Home in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Funeraria del Angel Palm in Pharr.
