Samuel was born on August 18th, 1985, in the city of Cadereyta, Nuevo Leon Mexico and was the son of Jose and Olivia Perez. Sam was the fifth of six children, born alongside his twin, Daniel Perez. He’s survived by his siblings; Mari and her husband Louie Brunetti, Irene and her husband, Orlando Garza, Jose and his wife Nancy, Angel and his wife Pamela and finally his twin brother, Daniel & his wife Melissa. Although Sam was never married, his prize possessions were his 8 nieces, 8 nephews, 2 great nieces, and 1 great nephew. Chris and Justine Brunetti, Chelsea, Isabella, Jonathan, Ellie, Orlando Jr., Naileen, Baby Joe, Nathan, Aleyna, Aleyza, Ayzeah, Dylan, Devyn and Madelyn. Joycel and Bentley Brunetti, and his one and only god daughter, Briella Brunetti.
Sam was not one to stay put for too long. After attending high school in Othello, Washington all 4 years, he ended up graduating in 2003, from McAllen Memorial High. Sam continued his education, later graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Operations Management. He pursued multiple career paths throughout the last 18 years mostly in education and finance. Each time Sam moved, it was either to be with family, or for his family wherever they needed him. For quite some time, he lived with Mari and Louie and their children in Washington. Both of his older sisters were like “mothers away from home,” during his time there. He loved watching the kids’ sporting events, dance recitals and major life accomplishments. In 2022, he rejoined his twinkie, Danny, in Texas to put his degree in action. There, they worked alongside each other and Sam helped revamp his entire payroll system.
There was no other place in the world than El Peine N.L, Mexico, that Sam would rather be every December. This was the time of year that our Sam would shine at our little ranch. There was never a holiday, party or event that Sam didn’t put his special touch on. He was our party planner, always making sure everyone showed up dressed on theme, ready to celebrate. He made sure the backdrop was ready for family pictures, the tables all glammed out. Nothing was ever simple with him. Just like his love for others. It was overwhelming. Sam was a man with hundreds of friends. If you knew Sam, you knew how loyal he was. He would do anything to help his people.
On February 12th, 2025, Sam began the month-long fight for his life after becoming ill. He never gave up and fought so hard, even if it meant throwing in his classic eyerolls to his nursing staff…and sisters. On March 15th, 2025 at 10:49 pm, surrounded by his beloved family he closed his eyes here on earth and was reunited with his heavenly father.
We will forever be thankful for the 39 years the Lord blessed us with Sam. It will never feel like we had enough time, but we are comforted knowing that we will be reunited one day. Thank you to all who have sent their condolences, and are in attendance today from near & far. God bless you all.
A visitation for Samuel will be held Friday, March 21, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm with a service from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at New Life Family Church, 2109 W Nolana Ave, McAllen, TX 78504.
