Barbara "Bobbie" Busby, 71 of Phenix City, Alabama passed away Monday January 27, 2014 at Columbus Hospice House. Funeral services will held 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 31, 2014 in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby, 3770 Hwy 431 N., Phenix City with burial to follow at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home.
Mrs. Busby was born October 25, 1942 in San Antonio, Texas. She is the daughter of Joseph Oppelt of California and the late Mary Farr Oppelt. She was a homemaker and baptist by faith. Other than her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilmer Busby.
Survivors include her father, Joseph Oppelt, daughters, Janet L. Brown of Phenix City, AL, Holly Plaley of Melbourne, FL, grandson Brian Brown of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, sister, Mary J. Dromgode., several nieces and nephews.
