Barry Boyd, 59 of Destin, Florida, formerly of Phenix City, Alabama, died February 17, 2011. Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Friday February 25th in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Highway 431 N, Phenix City, Alabama, 36867. Interment with military honors will be in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Boyd was born July 19, 1951 in Little Washington, North Carolina, son of the late Elon Boyd and Mary Atkins Boyd. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy including service in Vietnam. Mr. Boyd was a self employed entrepreneur and held a Bachelors Degree in electrical engineering.
Survivors include his wife, Debra Kay Boyd of Destin, FL., sons and daughter-in-law, Brock Boyd of Birmingham, AL., Shon and JoJanna Boyd of Cincinatti, OH., brothers, Cecil Boyd of Smiths Station, Allen Boyd and Terry Boyd of Phenix City, sister, Sheila Milner of Phenix City, grandchildren, Clayton and Corbyn Boyd, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
